Read this sentence out loud (QUICKLY) – as that is how Bri’ish people actually speak…

If you said this correctly… you may have noticed a whole new letter appear:
“Go-won then, let’s play some footy!”
Wait… ‘w’? Where on earth did that come from? Well, it’s magic, like I said!
Okay, it’s not quite magic, but it should be…
The ‘w’ comes from something called 'linking', a technique that native speakers use when they are talking quickly.
So, if you have ever noticed yourself sounding a bit... unnatural when speaking quickly - this could be why.
